Question: Discuss about the Principles of Management An Organization. Answer: Leadership is required at every level in the organization. A leader or in context of an organization, a manager is a representative of an organization. The role played by a leader in an organization is of reconciling and integration of the personal goals of the employees with the goals of the organization. He plays a supportive role so that the difficulties faced at the workplace by the employees do not de-motivate them (Shah Mulla, 2013). Leaders are friend, philosopher and guide of the employees, they listen to the grievances of the employees, they advise them in times of confusion and chaos and they guide their path leading them to efficiency, which good for the employees at individual level and for the organization as a whole. The leadership style of Bill gates was participative leadership style because he believes in participation of the employees for the good of the organization. The leadership style of Steve Jobs is autocratic leadership style, as he believes that the leader is the main person who is in charge of all decisions within the organization. The leadership styles of both the leaders are completely different be said just the opposite of each other leadership style. Centralization of authority can be seen the management style of Steve Jobs as he believed that it is very important to have command over the employees (Harold Koontz Heinz Weihrich, 2012). The style of Steve Jobs was dictatorial and authoritative style, the management the team with an authority, some even called him ruthless because of his management and leadership style. He believed that people are needed to show what they are supposed to do. The centralization of power was evident in the management styles he used. He always emphasized on efficiency and that is the result that the company became pioneer. He used masterful stories to motivate his employees, he gave examples to inspire his team to give the desired performance. Bill Gates team management was more participative he allowed his employees to participate in all the decision-making processes that were aimed at attaining the goals and objectives of the organization. Bill Gates believed that in order to increase productivity the employees it is very important that they are happy and motivated for that a participative team management can be helpful (Shah Mulla, 2013). Communication is the process of by which a two parties are able to exchange the ideas, information, emotions and much more. It is a two way process which begins with a message and ends with a feedback. In an organization that has a large scale multinational operation managers are expected to be more prompt, rational and analytic in nature. As a leader a manager is always expected to have an open mind and should not be hasty in taking any kind of decision. A major aspect of being a successful leader in such an organization is to keep the team motivated in order to achieve the goals of the organization. Motivation is required to build employees commitment towards the organization so as to reduce the employee turnover as well as understanding and identifying with the grievances and challenges faced by an employee. Communication is important in motivation, most of the times the managers are expected to be vocal about their thoughts regarding the progress of the group, appreciation in ter ms of words and material is the best kind of motivation.
